A Contract UX/UI Designer position at a preeminent global financial services firm. The UX/UI Designer will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and specifying interaction models, screens, and component-level designs and interactions for Credit Risk applications. To do this, the designer is expected to understand the key users as well as the technical and business contexts that might influence the design of a system. Our designers follow their proposed solution through an iterative development lifecycle to ensure that the vision becomes a reality.

Location: Midtown, NYC

Optional (not required):Graphic or Web Design

The IA will responsible for:

- Building an understanding of user needs & contexts via primary or secondary research

- Illustrating the UX of proposed feature and system concepts

- Illustrating user scenarios

- Creating visual specifications such as wireframes/schematics and interaction flows

- Gathering user feedback via interviews and user testing

Development/Computing Environment:

The ideal candidate:

- Enjoys the multi-disciplinary nature of user experience

- Enjoys designing complex interactivity and seeks to innovate

- Has experience designing transactional and highly interactive user interfaces

- Understands and has opinions about current industry best practices

- Balances an academic interest in best practices with tactical solutions

- Has strong presentation skills and can defend their designs with rationale

- Follows a user-centered design process and can adjust it when necessary

- Manages client expectations

- Enjoys collaborating with product owners and business analysts to design solutions

- Manages own time efficiently- Is detail-oriented- Works collaboratively with developers

Required Qualities:

- Minimum 6 years of experience working as a user experience professional

- Demonstrable experience designing rich interactions for desktop, web, and mobile applications

Desired Qualities:

- Financial Services industry experience

- Good writing skills

- Foundation education in graphic, industrial, interaction design or related degree
