Detailed Info: to be part of the Middleware Engineering group that ensures the firm is positioned for emerging technology offerings and spans Big Data, Machine Learning, Database, Messaging, Java, App Entitlement Management, Market Data, External Financial Messaging and related engineering efforts. Middleware Engineering covers a range of products from messaging to application entitlement management. The successful candidate will become familiar with the platforms we own and will help to drive automation,optimization and adoption across the stack as well as contribute to key strategic projects. Strategic engagement with application development teams to provide timely end-to-end delivery of appropriate platform solutions. Interface with application and development community to analyze and resolve escalations. Continually evaluate the operation of the environment and assist in optimizing the delivery of the products to clients. Provide technical guidance on established infrastructure best practices to IT community and business. Responsible for reduction in operational overhead by building automated / self-service tools using both scripting and high level programming languages
Development/Computing Environment: Degree in computer science or engineering. Analytical, problem solver - ability to articulate thoughts clearly and influence. Ability to perform trend/gap analysis and provide recommendation to address risks. Understanding and familiarity of project management concepts. Ability to work as part of a Global team. Experience with Messaging Brokers and Frameworks including Tibco EMS or Tibco RV. Knowledge of the JMS Spec with reliable and guaranteed messaging patterns. Deep understanding of how messaging nodes and brokers operate. Strong understanding of Network (multicast, tcp protocols) and Linux fundamentals. Willingness to learn new products, test new software, and engage with messaging users. Experience troubleshooting messaging latency issues and/or missing messages. Scripting skills: (shell/perl/python). Nice to have : Exposure to AMQP, RabbitMQ, Kafka. Exposure to REST micro-services.
