Detailed Info: to join the Workspace Engineering Team. The team is committed to delivering secure and reliable endpoint solutions that provide a great user experience. We are responsible for all aspects of the design, configuration and integration of end user computing devices into the firm. This includes Windows, Mac OS, and related technologies. The candidate should be a technology enthusiast and a catalyst for change. They would be expected to stay at the forefront of developing trends in the end user computing workspace area and research/test solutions for potential implementation within our firm. While the focus of this role is primarily R&D, the candidate would be expected to perform full integration activities as well including building appropriate documentation and monitoring. Current initiatives are related to: Windows 10; evergreen or Current Branch (CB) maintenance, Office 365 and other Cloud technology adoption, Virtual Desktop improvement and VDI access point replacements (Thin Clients, Chromebooks, etc), and Modern Management solutions for desktops and other devices. The candidate will have a very strong technical foundation, a strategic mind-set, great communication skills and the ability to collaborate well with others in a truly global team. They should be adaptable enough to meet with the challenges of large enterprise environment.
Development/Computing Environment: Deep technical understanding of Windows operating systems up to and including Windows 10. Familiarity with Desktop Virtualization Technologies from VMWare, Citrix, AppSense, Microsoft. Familiarity with cloud services such as Office 365, Azure AD, MDM/MAM solutions. Knowledge of common Windows Infrastructure i.e.
Active Directory/SCCM/GPO. Strong troubleshooting mind-set (i.e. parsing event log, Sysinternals tools, analyzing memory dumps etc). Experience of large scale desktop deployment tools and techniques in globally distributed organizations. Scripting ability highly desired (whether with PowerShell, WMI, VBScript, etc.) Knowledge of software packaging tools (e.g. InstallShield, App-V sequencer, Wise) Knowledge of common third party tools used to manage/support large environments. i.e. AppSense, Systrack, etc. Ability to write technical and operational management documentation (system design and engineering documents, operational runbooks) Desktop/Laptop/Server Hardware Knowledge is helpful..
