Investment Research is uniquely committed to being an essential part of our clients' investment process. We strive to be the sell-side research provider that best understands the buy side. The Equity Research department is responsible for researching macroeconomic and microeconomic conditions, along with company fundamentals. It also collects and analyses financial information to make investment recommendations on stocks in specific sectors. Research analysts build financial models to explore alternative scenarios, examine industries and communicate with companies and investors. Equity Research team members discuss their analysis and investment recommendations in research notes. Development/Computing Environment: Skills Required
-Master's degree in Statistics, Quantitative Finance or Econometrics
-2-5 years of professional experience in Financial Services - Equity Research (buy or sell side) preferred
-Basic knowledge of financial statements, and main valuation and fundamental ratios required
-Programming skills required: SAS much preferred, but R, Python, C++, VBA (or other object oriented programming) will also be considered
-Strong attention to detail is required
-Communication skills: ability to explain one's work clearly and concisely, and to communicate with a less technical audience
-Persistence i.e. ability to "endure" tedious tasks (data importing, cleaning, checking.) without losing focus or intensity
-Being a self-starter, taking initiatives, being curious is a must.
