Detailed Info: Production Support Engineer for Software Support

Development/Computing Environment:


Production Support of multiple systems and ensuring that support SLA's (service level agreements) are met.

Including analyzing & performing root cause analysis and resolving time sensitive production issues.

Coordination both internally and externally, between company internal resources e.g. DBA's, System Administrators, networking, helpdesk, and other support groups and external vendor resources for resolving production issues, applying new patches/releases and implement new products.

Communication with business partners ensuring that they are well informed of system availability during patches/upgrades.

Support and maintenance of Integrations and ETL

Identifying and implementing continuous operational improvement opportunities.

Support multiple systems for Finance, Legal, Compliance and other corporate areas. Application examples: Wings, Paisley, Frontier, Chesapeake, Concur, Archer, Essbase, PeopleSoft, Wings, FCRM, etc.

Work directly with business partners


2-5 years' experience with production support of packaged applications (COTS, consumer off-the-shelf) and SaaS applications

2-5 years' experience with Relational database systems - Understanding of relational database concepts. Experience with recent versions of DB2, Oracle, or MS-SQL database preferred.

High level programming languages such as Java, C#, etc.

Create and run complex SQL scripts

Scripting languages such as shell, Perl, etc.

Operating Systems - either UNIX or Windows

Familiar with common reporting tools e.g. Crystal, Tableau

Any ETL e.g. Informatica, Microsoft SSIS

Integrating with Active Directory, HR Systems

MS Visio and Testing Tools (e.g. Load Runner)

Excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills


BA or BS in Computer Science, MIS or related

Minimum 3-5 years IT experience with industry


Working in a formal environment following SDLC with an emphasis on agile type projects

Strong focus on quality deliveries and effectively manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently

Collaborate with project managers, task force members, database administrators, system administrators, users and other staff

Willingness to learn new business processes and technologies quickly

Provide input on future technology needs and requirements

Create detail design specifications and adherence to methodology
