Detailed Info:

Responsibilities and duties:

  • Design network solutions meeting requirements for low latency, high availability, and scalability

  • Design solutions leveraging low latency technologies such as, Layer 1-3 Ultra Low Latency Switches

  • Conduct industry standard functional and performance testing of vendor technologies, new codes releases, and security patches.

  • Create standards around products and services within the environment following engineering best practice and methodologies.

  • Work with Product Managers and Architects to design and integrate new Networking Technology into the existing environment

  • Design solutions adherent to the company and industry security standards.

  • Ownership of technical decisions as to provide guidance to Implementation and Operations teams

  • Participate in an L3 on-call rotation as escalation for Operations, however this will be a small part of the overall job.


Development / Computing Environment:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering

  • 5+ years work experience in Financial Technology Sales or Network Engineering

  • In-depth knowledge of Financial Extranets, Server hardware, market data, low-latency trading infrastructure, and the financial technology landscape

  • Understanding of the datacenter colocation environment

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite - Visio in particular

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills

  • Strong written and oral communication skills (capable of independently writing quality documentation)

  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and organized

  • Self-starter interested in continuous improvement of the environment

  • Keen to contribute ideas, share knowledge, and help others develop

  • Driven to develop own skills and knowledge; interested in cutting edge technology

  • Team player
