Detailed Info: Data Catalogue Modeler / Data Curator to work on a 'green-field' Enterprise Master Data Management project; building a comprehensive Master Ref. Data Mgmt Platform

Responsibilities:

Propose and enforce data management best practices, data standards, data management policies and rules across different functional areas of the company.

Develop entity relationships (ER models) for normalized and dimensional models

Assist in automation of metadata capturing, lineage, proactive data quality etc.

Lead vendor evaluation and recommend new and emerging technologies in the areas of Data Catalogue, Master data management, Data Analytics etc.

Analyze current state of data architecture of various systems across the enterprise - software components, technologies, data models and business processes

Translate technical details into business terms and vice versa, assuring mutual understanding and agreement of objectives/deliverables by all affected constituencies.

Data Wrangling - Work with IT and subject matter experts to specify what data is sought, identify data sources, and structure the data once gathered. Develop data algorithms and models. Build repeatable processes for multiple projects and templates for solid, predictable visual output that will jump-start the information/design process.

Data Analysis - Set hypotheses and test them, find meaning in the data, and apply that to a specific business context. Determine what action the data would suggest.


Development/Computing Environment: Candidate should have a minimum of 7 years of overall Enterprise IT experience, Enterprise Data Architecture vision and an understanding of a Data Governance framework.

Experience in data modeling principles/methods including conceptual, logical & physical Data Models.

Strong understanding of data management concepts (data modeling, data governance, data quality, data lineage, data ontologies)

Strong in gaining knowledge of new technologies across data management disciplines and conduct proof of concepts of well-established and innovative enterprise software tools.

Excellent interpersonal skills, accountability, written and verbal communication skills, time management are key competencies to this position.

Ability to analyze complex data and ability to communicate Data Governance concepts to technical and non-technical staff, to work independently with minimal supervision including the organization and prioritization of tasks to meet deadlines and department goals.

Background in finance (ideally in insurance or retirement services) and facilitation skills to be an effective as a consultant to various projects.

Data Modeling / Cataloguing / Wrangling tools: Experience with tools such as ERWin, ER/Studio, Waterline Data, Collibra, Erwin, Hadoop, Trifacta, Paxata, Tableau, etc.

Ability to work on multiple major projects simultaneously and learn new tools.

Understanding of ML/NLP and Statistics

Experience with MDM software..
