Detailed Info:

The IT User Support, Space Data Analyst Contractor will help to maintain university, department, and floor plan data housed in the universities Space Management System (SMS).

  • This person will be responsible for reviewing and ensuring the accuracy of space data. This requires knowledge of space terminology particularly in a higher education context, as well as best practices for architectural graphic standards.

  • Additionally, this person will be involved in the review of vendor-produced architectural drawings, which requires collaboration with the Office of Construction Management to ensure compliance with Standards.

  • This person will also serve as a liaison with internal clients regarding their space data and will act as a liaison between SMS clients and OTSS' system development team to ensure that front end development meets user needs.

  • Finally, they will also need working knowledge of Electrical, Facilities, Telecom, Engineering shop drawings, liaison with Architect and Engineering firms, and develop standards to be followed by these firms while submitting shop drawings for projects.

Development / Computing Environment:

Required Experience:

  • 3-5 years hands-on experience drafting and correcting drawings in AutoCAD. Must have experience with performing client support, data review, and data analytics.

Preferred Experience:

  • 3-5 years of product/system delivery experience

  • Experience working in an academic environment, a University or educational institution

  • Experience with system testing

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD

  • Have a demonstrated ability to draft new floor plans and correct existing floor plans while adhering to university drawing standards

  • Ability to prioritize and execute multiple work tasks

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and in a team/project-oriented environment

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Willingness to learn new technical skills and accommodate evolving technologies

  • Ability to evaluate data quality, analyze large data sets, and provide critical system feedback

  • Ability to interpret and communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience is required

  • Ability to interact effectively and professional with a diverse population of clients and university leaders
