Detailed Info: Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership - Focus on building a strong engineering team, Provide regular employee feedback and performance reviews. Identify training needs and cross-training opportunities between team members. Manage the operational budget for your team.

  • Maintenance Support - Schedule 24/7 on-call support serving production operations Develop support standards and procedures, preventative maintenance schedules, systems for issue tracking and reporting. Take ultimate responsibility for the reliability and stability of the technical environment

  • Capital Projects and Strategy - Collaborate with O&T leadership and Telemundo clients to develop both short and long range strategic technology planning. Present and defend capital budget plans to senior leadership. Develop conceptual designs and technology architecture vision, assign project work to team members with clear direction. Engage as needed with projects at other sites in NY/NJ, LA and Denver

  • Client management - Work closely with Telemundo production operations clients and management both formally and informally to track project development and issue resolution, manage priorities and schedules, and set client expectations. Take a responsible leadership role for all events and productions at Telemundo center and act as the main client interface. Capture technical requirements, provide solutions and ensure resources are available for support.

Development / Computing Environment: Required Technical Skillsets

  • Studio, Post and Transmission systems design, integration and support

  • Studio and Post production workflows and operational processes

  • Enterprise file storage and virtual computing

  • Experience with software development and/or scripting in support of API integrations with Media flows

  • IP networking (Cisco certification preferred), and IP media standards

  • Ability to read and interpret design documentation, including elevations, connection drawings and runlists

  • 7+ years of recent experience with a broadcaster or broadcast industry solutions provider

  • 2+ years of management experience, including performance evaluation, hiring and disciplinary action

  • Must be willing to work evenings, overnights, weekends , holidays with little or/no notice

  • This is a bilingual operation; Spanish language skills are preferred but not required.
