Our client is a conglomerate of telecommunication companies. Its experts create tools for testing the performance of new solutions. These tools are used by service engineers and testers for assessing the quality of cellular networks, wired communication, etc. They create full cycle solutions, from software (deployed on the clients infrastructure) to hardware. Testing allows for building the topology of the client's network and evaluating it according to different parameters.


The user requirements for the solutions features are growing and the software is evolving. Were currently helping them with developing infrastructure projects. Among them is a desktop application that allows you to interact with users through the GUI and can act as an agent or service on a remote system. Another project is an application for managing agents: configuring functions, collecting data, and coordinating the work of agents.


As a Software Engineer, you will be part of a team that develop sophisticated software to improve operational support for client's services. The candidate will have a possibility to influence key technology issues, which include defining, designing, and implementing cloud-native software using process automation, big data, and predictive analytics technologies.


Responsibilities

Work with business analysis/requirement to understand needed system functionality

Plan the evolution of the system, understand new product capabilities and decompose the implementation into specific functional changes

Coordinate the delivery of multi-part product capabilities with other engineers

Implement unit test and appropriate hooks for automated testing of new functions

Diagnose and debug production issues detected during testing or production use of specific functional changes

Provide input to documentation and user training teams

Required Skills and Experience

Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

2-5 years of experience in Java

Experience with SQL, object-oriented paradigm and familiarity with large software project tools (e.g. source code control)

Proven track record working on large multi-person software systems

Additional Competences

Experience with open source technology stacks such as Hadoop, Docker/Kubernetes, and Open Stack

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud is helpful

Telecommunications OSS experience

Experience with open source technology stacks such as Hadoop, Docker/Kubernetes, and Open Stack

NoSQL databases such as Druid, Cassandra, HBase, and MongoDB

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud

Performance profiling and tuning is preferred

Knowledge of mobile technologies

Experience working with large scale software architecture design

Experience with distributed processing frameworks such as Spark and MapReduce


Development/Computing Environment:
