Detailed Info: The Big Data Consultant is responsible for facilitating the success of IT build efforts in the new Data Center within the Big Data/ Hadoop environment. We're looking for a Big Data consultant with the appropriate level of technical skills to play a vital technical / oversight role in an ongoing data center migration effort of Oracle Big Data Appliance hardware. Ecosystem includes the Cloudera Distribution of Hadoop which runs on the platform with associated software. Necessary skills in addition to the Cloudera Hadoop ecosystem include networking, operating system (specifically Linux) and security topics (i.e., AD, Kerberos and LDAP) in order to understand the peripheral areas that touch on the Big Data platform as is implemented within the company.

Development/Computing Environment: Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, information systems or related discipline, or equivalent and extensive related project experience.

5-7 years of progressive experience as a Big Data Platform Engineer with extensive experience in the Cloudera ecosystem of products.

Working knowledge of relational database technologies (Oracle preferred).

Experience in querying Hadoop platforms using Hue, Hive

Financial Services industry experience preferred.

Customer-focused and solutions-oriented mindset.

Strong interpersonal and partnership skills.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.

Ability to work independently and self-directed.

Strong time management skills - able to prioritize, organize and plan work effectively.
