Detailed Info:

The Senior Information Architect will work within several streams at the same time and will be expected to help accelerate development and improve the overall quality of the deliverable.

  • The role is geared towards Functional Architecture every application is mapped to a function that it performs i.e., OTC derivative valuation.

  • There are multiple application platforms to be addressed in this architecture role, and the ideal candidate has a development background, as well as a range of Data issues experience i.e., Data Quality, Data Governance, etc. where/what Data is required for each application.

  • Superior Information Architecture and Data Management are essential to a successful business delivery and are also expected to help reduce operating costs, mitigate risk and improve the performance profile of the business solution.

  • Ownership of and collaboration in the production and maintenance of quality SDLC governed Data Models possessing lineage and implementation traceability metadata.

  • These Data Models will be comprised of Business Data Entity Models, Business Event Models, Constituent State Models, utilized Controlled Vocabularies, Communication Models and Consumer Driven Contracts with traceability to/from Logical and Physical schemas.

  • Engaging with Business Operations, Product Management and Technology groups the IA ensures that business requirements are translated into fit-for-purpose data requirements and that accurate traceability and lineage is both defined and documented.

  • The Information Architect (IA) will work with Business, Application and Technology Architects to review (and where necessary contribute to) business drivers, needs and strategies whilst assessing the implications and impact to the Data and Information Architecture.

Although this is a very senior position the right candidate will learn a great deal in this role.

Development/Computing Environment:

  • Ideal candidate will have 8+ years of hands-on Object Oriented software development in enterprise-sized applications utilizing languages such as Java, Python, C++; data formats like XML and JSON;

  • Database Management Technology Standards, such as SQL, DBMS Partitioning, Index Creation, Physical Data Models, RDF, SPARQL. 5+ years of hands on Information Architecture in enterprise-sized applications with a strong working knowledge of Data Modelling and Meta-modelling (preferably with UML) or the use of alternative Data Modeling tools such as ERwin, Power Designer and Magic Draw. Very strong knowledge of the Financial Services Domain with an emphasis on Institutional Businesses that include Trading Middle Office, Prime Brokerage, Custody and Fund Accounting; across Securities and Derivatives Products.

  • Knowledge of various Data Architecture options including ODS, Data Lake, Data Warehousing, OLTP, Data Vault and OLAP.

  • Strong knowledge of Data Management technologies including Oracle, Hadoop, Cassandra, Informatica, Pentaho, SOLR/Lucene. Knowledge of core Information Architecture capabilities, including Master and Reference Data Management, Data Quality (DQ), Metadata Management, Data Taxonomy, Data Integration, Data Migration and Data Modeling
