Description:

The Project Manager - Associate is a member of the IT - IT PMO and will assist the Senior Director, IT-PMO and the Assistant Director, Project Portfolio Governance as well as the Project Managers in the IT-PMO manage information technology projects across the University. This role will focus on executive portfolio reporting and documentation, process documentation, portfolio and project auditing as well as project management support. The Project Manager - Associate will serve as an influential leader by demonstrating PM professionalism, passion, providing communication/motivation through teamwork and collaboration.

Essential Job Functions (but not limited to):

  • Assist in creating executive level reports for portfolio and project health to be presented to the CIO and CIO Directs

  • Documentation of IT Governance processes and ensure adherence to IT Governance standards across the IT portfolios

  • Provide support to the Senior Director and Assistant Director on meeting deadlines for executive reporting, strategic planning and project/portfolio management.

  • Auditing of portfolio and project data elements in Workfront in preparation for executive level reporting and status as well as ensuring standards are upheld.

  • Assist in managing all aspects of technology project management and project lifecycles by effectively initiating, planning, executing and controlling multiple projects at the same time.


Job Related Experience:

  • 1+ years experience in overall project management

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and G-Suite

  • Proficient with Project Management tools (ex. Workfront/@task)


Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Bachelors degree.

  • Ability to adopt project management best practices and help improve the processes.

  • Ability to build relationships through IT.

  • Ability to step into projects and initiatives already in progress.

  • Excellent organization and time management skills. Operates independently with minimal guidance by management; adapts well to change.

  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis.

  • Extensive experience in meeting planning and documentation.

  • Ability to communicate with and present to senior management/executives as needed.

  • Ability to have a big-picture orientation, as well as to see the details.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with PM tools such as @Task or Workfront a plus.
