Location: Lower East Side, Manhattan

Description:

  • Manage the technical deployment, administration and operational support of all LaGuardia Studio service portfolio hardware and software systems to ensure optimal performance, service availability and overall quality assurance related to service functionality.

  • Review 3D service production systems to improve quality control processes for job order production runs. Help plan and execute system repairs, updates, patches and upgrades.

  • Assist management with developing best practices for problem solving resolutions related to specialized PC and Mac systems driving 3D hardware and supporting software, as well as corresponding systems used to support production processes.

  • Assist with communication to staff and stakeholders regarding the configuration of the LGS production service systems, to include formatting specifications and file preparation.

  • Help keep LGS staff apprised of equipment maintenance schedules.


Technical Experience:

  • Understanding of systems administration through UI and command line, in both Mac, Windows and Linux environments. Familiarity with network interfaces. Understanding of deployment processes, imaging and administration for a range of software including Adobe Creative Suite, Autodesk MAYA, SolidWorks, MeshLab, Blender, Pixoligic ZBrush, DesignX, Cinema 4D, Rinocerus 3D and netfab Studio. Familiarity with HPC job processing a plus.


Required Experience:

  • Four years relevant professional experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must include experience and technical expertise supporting advanced 3D imaging applications, 3D scanning and 3D printing hardware systems.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Understanding of systems administration through UI and command line, in both Mac, Windows and Linux environments. Familiarity with network interfaces. Understanding of deployment processes and administration for a range of software including Adobe Creative Suite, Autodesk MAYA, SolidWorks, MeshLab, Blender, Pixoligic ZBrush, DesignX, Cinema 4D, Rinocerus 3D and netfab Studio. Familiarity with HPC job processing a plus. Excellent organizational, project management and technical leadership skills. Excellent analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

The services the LGS provides are critical to research, teaching and learning needs of the University.
