Detailed Info: To be advocating and defining cloud architecture vision from a strategic perspective, including internal and external platforms, tools, and systems. Designing, implementing and managing a large-scale, resilient, multi-tenant R&D environment utilizing cloud technologies. Developing solutions architecture and evaluate architectural alternatives for private, public and hybrid cloud models, including IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud services. Leading the definition and development of cloud reference architecture and management systems. Designing, maintaining and expanding our research computing environment using HPC technologies. Collaborating with internal trading teams and external business partners to support their workloads in the public Cloud. Providing technical expertise and ownership in the diagnosis and resolution of an issue, including the determination and provision of workaround solution or escalation to service owners
Development/Computing Environment: Experience spanning at least two IT disciplines, including technical architecture, network management, application development, HPC, or operations. Strong client-facing communication skills. This is a highly visible position in an environment that can be very dynamic at times. Experience with managing HPC workloads in public clouds, particularly GCP and AWS. Expert knowledge of cloud architecture and implementation features (OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, orchestration, elastic scalability) Expert understanding of OS concepts and internals of Linux, Intel-based hardware and server's components. Understanding of and experience in infrastructure-as-code practices. Daily use of and contribution to developing automation and monitoring tools, such as configuration management, source control, CI/CD, automated deployment. Expert knowledge of Python, and Bash; knowledge of Go and Perl a plus. Experience with DevOps tools such as SaltStack, Cfengine, Ansible, and/or Terraform. Experience with HPC tools such as HTCondor, SLURM, GridEngine, Nomad or Mesos. Understanding of server-side networking and typical network and routing protocols. Strong understanding of SOA, object-oriented analysis and design, and/or client/server systems
